Crossover Cover: Das Verschwinden des Doktor Jekyll

Are you a fan of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde?

Then you might enjoy this issue of the German pulp magazine Detektiv John Spurlock in which Jekyll appears!

For more information, see my book Crossovers Expanded: A Secret Chronology of the World Volume 3, which will be published by Meteor House! All three volumes are AUTHORIZED companions to Crossovers: A Secret Chronology of the World Volumes 1 and 2 by Win Scott Eckert!

  1. Not about Jekyll or John Spurlock, but I just read Phantom Stranger 3 in Showcase Presents the Phantom Stranger. In it Doctor Thirteen tells the story of how he solved the mystery of the return of the "Phantom of Paris." Though it's called the Phantom of Paris and not the Phantom of the Opera it is blatantly the Phantom of the Opera who is treated like a real person who lived in the 19th century. I think this would bring in Doctor Thirteen and the Phantom Stranger.

    1. Interesting! Doctor Thirteen is actually already in through an issue of SCOOBY-DOO TEAM-UP I included in Volume 2, while the Phantom Stranger is in through the STANLEY AND HIS MONSTER mini-series that treated the Shadow and Doc Savage as real people.

    2. I forgot about his appearance in Stanley and His Monster.

  2. The story from Phantom Stranger 3 is apparently a reprint of an earlier story of Thirteen's from Star Spangled Comics, I think.
