Jimmie Aussapile is a member of the Brotherhood of the Wheel, a secret society descended from the Knights Templar, now mostly consisting of bikers, truckers, drifters, and highway patrol, who protect the roads from threats supernatural and mundane. Jimmie meets a Louisiana policewoman named Lovina Marcou, whose sister was killed in the bayou by a cult that John Raymond Legrasse bested a century ago. Jimmie Aussapile first appeared in Belcher’s Nightwise, featuring southern wizard Laytham Ballard. The sequel to Nightwise is The Night Dahlia. Inspector John Raymond Legrasse is from H. P. Lovecraft’s “The Call of Cthulhu.”
