In May 1944, Atomic Robo’s sometime ally Sparrow, an agent of British Intelligence, must destroy a subterranean Nazi artillery cannon. At one point, a German seemingly shoots her, but she kills him. She explains her survival: “Latest from Q Branch. Bulletproof jacket.” Q Branch is from Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels.

Crossover Cover: Atomic Robo and the Shadow from Beyond Time

Atomic Robo battles an eldritch horror that exists across time over the course of 83 years. Ro-Man appears outside Robo's office in the 1971 chapter. Robo’s transtemporal foe, though not named, is unmistakably the Great Old One Yog-Sothoth. Ro-Man is from the science fiction film Robot Monster. Although the film’s ending reveals its apocalyptic events were only a dream, Ro-Man is then shown coming out of a cave. Robo probably convinced Ro-Man to abandon his plans for conquest and join Tesladyne.

Crossover Cover: Unearthed

In a flashback to France in 1985, Atomic Robo battles his old foe Heinrich von Helsingard, whose brain has been placed in a cybernetic body, alongside Roadblock, Scarlett, and Bazooka, from the toy line G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. The Joes’ British counterpart, Action Force, is already in the CU through references to Fu Manchu and Denis Nayland Smith. The Joes will also later meet the DangerGirl team.

Crossover Cover: The Tsar Bomb

Captain America’s shield and a picture of Hellboy hang on the walls of Atomic Robo’s offices. Hellboy's face is obscured, but the rest of the picture makes him instantly recognizable. Since this story takes place in 1961, Robo must know the real Hellboy.

Crossover Covers: Atomic Robo and the Knights of the Golden Circle

Atomic Robo has spent the last fourteen years in the Old West after accidentally being transported there from June 2013. Robo, Doc Holliday, and Bass Reeves encounter the younger version of Robo’s foe Heinrich von Helsingard. Robo says, “Old colleague of mine, he used to say, ‘wherever you go, there you are.’ I think it works with whenever too.” In the epilogue, Secret Service Agents James West and Artemus Gordon discover the wreckage of Helsingard’s airship. Robo was transported to 1870 at the end of the miniseries Atomic Robo and the Savage Sword of Dr. Dinosaur. Robo’s old colleague is Dr. Buckaroo Banzai. James West and Artemus Gordon are from the television series The Wild Wild West, of course.
