Crossover Cover: Grand Guignol: Septieme Partie: A Villain’s Tale II

Hamilton Drew, a Sherlock Holmes-like occult detective, belonged to the Groves Club, which possessed a copy of Natty Bumppo’s diary. This reference is somewhat surprising, since James Fenimore Cooper portrayed Bumppo as illiterate. Although the Jack Knight version of Starman has a CU counterpart, as do the Elongated Man and the second Phantom Lady (Dee Tyler), who also appear, the “Grand Guignol” storyline has too many appearances by other DC heroes (including a flashback to one of the Justice Society of America’s original cases) to fit comfortably into the CU, so this must be an AU.

This crossover is one of over a thousand covered in my book Crossovers Expanded: A Secret Chronology of the World Volume 3, coming this summer from Meteor House! All three volumes are AUTHORIZED companions to Win Scott Eckert's Crossovers: A Secret Chronology of the World Volumes 1 and 2!

Crossover Cover: Written in My Own Heart's Blood

In 1778, Lord John Grey briefly encounters Natty Bumppo. Per Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, James Fenimore Cooper’s Natty Bumppo is a Wold Newton Family ancestor, so this crossover brings in Gabaldon’s Outlander series which blends the historical romance and science fiction genres. Lord John Grey also appears in a spin-off series of his own.

This crossover is just one among hundreds covered in my book Crossovers Expanded: A Secret Chronology of the World Volume 3! Just like the first two volumes, this one is an AUTHORIZED companion to Win Scott Eckert's Crossovers: A Secret Chronology of the World Volumes 1 and 2 and will be published by Meteor House!

Then you'll love I. A. Watson's contribution to this anthology,  "Fort of Skulls," which is a crossover between the Mythos and the characters of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Novels!

Crossover Cover: The Hidden Children

An American soldier in the Revolutionary War named Loskiel learns that he was discovered as an orphaned infant by three Mohican Indians, Mayaro, Uncas, and the Great Serpent, in 1757, during the French and Indian War. Mayaro seems to be Chambers’ creation, but Uncas and the Great Serpent (Chingachgook) are major characters in James Fenimore Cooper’s novel The Last of the Mohicans. Philip José Farmer identified Uncas and Chingachgook’s companion Natty Bumppo as the ancestor of a branch of the Wold Newton Family in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life. This novel is part of a series that also includes Cardigan, The Maid-at-Arms, The Reckoning, The Little Red Foot, and America; or, The Sacrifice.
