Crossover Covers: Omega One

During World War II, Shi works with the superhuman task force Omega One to acquire one of the three pieces of a Nazi superweapon. Liberty Girl also appears. In this universe, Hitler committed suicide after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which does not gel with the CU’s history, which largely mirrors our world’s. Furthermore, Liberty Girl’s world has already been established as an alternate reality to the CU.

Crossover Cover: Akai

In 1941, Shi (Ana Ishikawa) meets British aviatrix and spy Victoria Cross. This 1940s version of Shi is an alternate take on the more familiar character, also named Ana Ishikawa, whose exploits take place in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The comic Shi: East Wind Rain introduces the World War II-era Shi’s granddaughter, herself named Ana. Researcher Brad Mengel theorizes the 1940s Ana Ishikawa is therefore the grandmother of her latter-day namesake. Victoria Cross went on to appear in Victoria Cross #1/2 by Tucci, published by Crusade in 2002, in a story set in 1937 entitled “Operation Wounded Condor.”

Crossover Covers: Lady Death/Shi

In 1182, Kikoku, aka Shi, battles Lady Death, who comes from the alternate dimension known as the Blacklands. Although Chaos! Comics’ original version of Lady Death exists in an alternate reality to the Crossover Universe, the Avatar version is a distinct one with no ties to other Chaos! characters, and has also encountered Pandora, who in turn has met Avengelyne, Razor, and the Shi of the seventeenth century, all of whom are in the CU themselves.

Crossover Covers: Grifter/Shi

Shi meets the masked hero known as Grifter (Cole Cash). In the Image Comics Universe, Grifter is a member of the superhero team WildC.A.T.S. This crossover brings in a version of him independent of the team.
