Lt. Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels of the Chicago Police Department tracks a meth cook to Wellman, Georgia, teaming up with private eye Wade Griffin in the process. They discover that the cook is using a neurotoxin to create zombies. Jack mentions her friend McGlade, who is also a P.I. Wade Griffin is from Rutledge and James A. Moore’s novels Blind Shadows and Congregations of the Dead, which I've covered here in the past. Jack Daniels is a cop featured in novels by J.A. Konrath, while McGlade is Harry McGlade, another series character of Konrath.
So you're not considering Kindle Worlds stories as just fanfic? Also, I thought the rules for Kindle Worlds forbade crossovers. Did this one just sneak through?ReplyDelete
J.A. Konrath has published several original novels through Kindle Worlds, and has collaborated with other authors on crossover stories involving their characters, and also allowed authors to do their own crossovers between his characters and their own. Konrath's endorsement, and the other authors' use of their own original characters, gives those crossovers a degree of validity in my eyes that other Kindle Worlds stories that the characters involved's creators had no input into do not have.ReplyDelete
Joe's Kindle World is also the only one that allows you to keep the rights to your characters, which is the only way I'd have used my own series character.ReplyDelete
