Crossover DVD Cover: Deer Woman
In this episode of the anthology TV series Masters of Horror directed by John Landis, Detective Dwight Faraday, investigating a series of murders committed by (unknown to him) the deer woman of Native American lore, suggests to his chief that the killer may be a new type of animal, citing a series of brutal animal attacks in London in 1981 that were linked to a freakish wolf that was gunned down in Piccadilly Circus. Later, Faraday and his colleague Officer Hood visit a casino, where a mechanical deer announces that Murph and the Magictones will be performing that night. The wolf attacks in 1981 are a reference to Landis’ film An American Werewolf in London, which is already in the CU. Murph and the Magictones are from Landis’ film The Blues Brothers, bringing in Jake and Elwood Blues.
