Crossover Covers: The Sky Masters

In an earlier post, I covered the first novel in Bill Craig's series featuring adventurer Michael "Hardluck" Hannigan. In the second novel, The Sky Masters, Hannigan and his friend Gregor Shotsky (who first met each other aboard a steamer called the African Queen) throw in their lot with Abigail Grayson, who like her deceased father, Sir Edmond Grayson, the Earl of Graystoke, is a British Intelligence agent. The three rendezvous at a cafĂ© in Casablanca called the Blue Parrot, which is owned by an obese man named Ferrari. The African Queen is from C. S. Forester’s novel of the same name. Abigail and her father are probably related to the Duke of Greystoke. The Blue Parrot and its owner Signor Ferrari are from the classic film Casablanca.

  1. I feel obligated to point out that Grayson is the name of Mr. Spock's immediate human family, and that he counted Sherlock Holmes among his more distant ancestors. Sir Edmund Grayson might just prove to be the link there.

  2. Spock has also been theorize to be descended from or, at least, at least related to Richard Grayson a.k.a. Robin.

The Flying Graysons were mentioned in one of The Merkabah Rider novels set in the Old West. The one had as last Sunday's Crossover of the Week.
